Spicy Spaghetti

Printable Version

When we think of spaghetti, we typically think of a red sauce, maybe some meatballs, and some delicious bread to go with it… until now! This spicy gochujang spaghetti takes a classic dish and adds some heat to it. Featuring Fischer & Wieser’s Knock U On Your Asphalt Sauce, this dish packs a punch while maintaining the traditional flavors of spaghetti by using herbs such as parsley and oregano. Fresh spinach, Kalamata olives and cherry tomatoes help tone down the heat level if you can’t handle it, but you’ll never want to eat spaghetti another way again!
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 20 min
Serves: 4
8 oz dry spaghetti noodles
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced
½ cup Kalamata olives
½ cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 cup fresh spinach
1 ½ tbsp. flour
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp oregano
½ tbsp. parsley
Salt & pepper, to taste
1.      In a large pot, bring 6 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, place spaghetti noodles in pot and boil until al dente (about 10-12 min)
2.      While noodles are cooking, sauté your mushrooms in a medium skillet using one tablespoon of butter. Once cooked, add your flour and blend in with mushrooms, about 2 minutes.
3.      To prepare your sauce, combine your heavy cream and F&W sauce. Whisk together to blend thoroughly.
4.      Before adding sauce, sauté the tomatoes, Kalamata olives and spinach, about 2 minutes.
5.      Add your sauce and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and let sit for about 10 minutes to thicken.
6.      Once noodles are cooked, drain thoroughly. Do not rinse. Combine noodles and sauce in skillet and stir to coat noodles. Add in your mozzarella cheese and stir to distribute evenly throughout dish.
7.      Plate & serve!
