Pretzel Bites

Ingredients
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
1 ½ cups warm water (approx. 110-120 degrees)
1 tbsp granulated sugar
4 cups all purpose flour
½ tsp salt
1 large egg
Butter & coarse salt (to taste)
 
Method
Preheat a baking oven to 425 degrees & line a baking sheet with parchment paper Combine yeast, warm water, & sugar in a large bowl & let rest for 15 minutes until foamy Add flour and salt to bowl and stir to combine until crumbly texture Roll out onto floured board & work dough with floured hands until smooth Lightly beat the egg in a small bowl & set aside Roll finished dough into 1 inch ropes & cut with sharp knife into 1 inch lengths Dip each 1 inch length into egg and then immediately transfer to baking sheet Repeat until baking sheet is full, dusting with coarse salt to taste Bake for 8-10 minutes and brush hot bites with melted butter
 
To serve, dip in Fischer & Wieser Texas German Fig Mustard & Enjoy!
