Italian Cubed Steaks
Printable VersionFor an easy gourmet entrée, try this slow-simmered Italian offering. Serve over pasta or rice, with a green salad and Italian bread, and you've got a marvelous organic gourmet treat! Delizioso!
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
4 beef cubed steaks, sliced into 1 inch strips
Salt and pepper to taste
1 24-ounce jar Mom's Organic Traditional Pasta Sauce
Melt butter in skillet; add chopped onion, green pepper, sliced seasoned cube steaks. Saute until onions are translucent and steaks are browned, approximately 10 minutes. If desired, place a crock pot liner in large capacity crock pot; place browned steak, onions, peppers in liner. Pour Mom's Organic Traditional Pasta Sauce over all, and set crock pot on low. Cook for 8 to 10 hours, until steak is very tender.
Alternatively, pour Mom's Organic Traditional Pasta Sauce over ingredients in skillet. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer. Add water 1/4 cup at a time as needed. Simmer 2 hours or until cube steak is tender. Serve over pasta or rice. Serves 4.
